Promoting the conscious and critical use of robotics, AI and digital technologies in education and society.
Scuola di Robotica (SdR) is an Italian non-profit association founded in Genova in 2000 by a multidisciplinary group of robotics researchers and human sciences scholars. Its mission is to promote the conscious and critical use of robotics, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies in education and society.
SdR designs and delivers training programmes for teachers, students (ages 4–18), school administrators, and adult professionals, covering robotics, coding, AI, STEAM education, and digital skills. It operates training centres in Genova, Udine, and Milan, and partners with schools, companies, and public institutions across Italy.
As the national FIRST® LEGO® League partner for Italy, SdR coordinates competitive robotics programmes involving over 500 teams and 4,500 students annually in more than 250 schools nationwide. The organisation also runs the NAO Challenge, a national humanoid robotics competition.
SdR is an active participant in European projects under Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, and other EU frameworks, acting both as coordinator and partner. Its activities are officially recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIM) under D.M. 131/2025, and its teacher training courses are accredited for national teacher qualification purposes.
HumaNova brings together 17 partners from 7 countries across the full innovation chain.
